YOUNG GUNS…

YOUNG GUNS...

It’s cold, crisp and fresh in London, exactly 6 months to-the-day since I took this capture of my favourite (and only) nephew. The little guy was so bored waiting for mummy & his little sis to stop faffing around in the park, that he put on his best ‘Ralph Lauren’ blue-steel pose for the occasion. I let the f 4.0 lens soften the rails behind him, and the bright cars off to the side were the perfect reflector disc for a nice, diffuse light! I think this one will sell ALOT of polo shirts to 4 year olds !! 😀

COME FLY WITH ME…

COME FLY WITH ME...

Whilst in Barcelona recently, I managed to sneak a peak in an airfield, and spied a pristine example of a Pilatus PC-12 NG – basically the finest private turbo-prop aircraft in the market. The weather was outrageous, with a crisp blue sky whisped with cirrus clouds providing the perfect balance for the sleek lines of the plane, and the bold yellow markings of the airfield. It yielded a catalogue-quality capture which is strikingly dramatic, and pretty aspirational! Click the photo to visit the company’s page to learn more about this gorgeous specimen!

ANDDDD RELAAXXXX …

ANDDDD RELAAXXXX ...

There is something effortlessly serene about the way this mosque, high atop the cliffs in Jaffa, sits against the backdrop of the interminable ocean. At the height of the midday sun, the horizon blurs the line between sea and sky, rendering a hazy blue background wash to bring out the stark, clean sandstone of the structure. I visit this part of the world year after year, just to take in the view and let out an ‘ahhhhhh’, and given that it’s currently 3 degrees, overcast and wet in London, I could use a bit of reminding right now !!!

VEGGIE FOR LUNCH !!!

VEGGIE FOR LUNCH !!!

This little spider went to … Regents Park, where he demolished orchids. Wonderful frosty day in one of London’s finest green spaces (at the inner circle, on the bizarre maze of islands flanked by random lake features). Felt like the right thing to do getting some shots of this little guy about to tuck in to a nice hearty lunch!

ANOTHER BLOODY ROOF ???

ANOTHER BLOODY ROOF ???

A very recent trip to Barcelona saw the mandatory visit to that outrageous, epic and utterly bonkers monstrosity, Gaudi’s vast Sagrada Familia. And here is my interpretation of it’s preposterousness. Despite using the widest lens I posess (and intentionally avoiding the comedy effect of my fisheye), it still wasn’t able to fit in more than 20% of the ceiling space! Remarkable architecture, vigorously evocative!

Shot on on a Canon EOS 5D Mk III, 17-40mm lens at 17mm, f 4.0, ISO 400, 1/30 sec. And barely even enhanced on lightroom!

THROUGH THE GLASS CEILING ???

Ceiling of Notre Dame

Taken whilst on a recent trip to Paris, on a Canon EOS 5D Mk II, 17-40mm lens at 17mm, f 5, ISO 1600, 1/10 sec.

It’s such a stunning structure, the pillars remind me of a spine, and the arched beams are like ribs holding the gothic lungs in – Notre Dame is a real living, breathing creature! Was trying to capture the humbling scale of the ceiling here, in an atmospheric manner. Got to love Paris!
